The trax is the right car for certain buyers. My 72 year old mother in-law falls into that group.
She ain’t pre-running the Baja 1000, nah mean?

Those things didn’t even have the torque to get those meats rolling.
Loo ks cool though.
For max points, they should have done the offroad concept of the Encore of that year.

For a moment I thought that was an ironic Chevy Bolt.

I don’t hate it.

It’d be fine.
My van originally had 140 hp and 170 ft-lbs running through a 3 speed auto, it carried itself fine.

Proof that big off-road tires and a roof rack can polish any turd

I think those have the 1.4L turbo engine, which makes like 180 ft-lbs, and the snail is tiny and starts spooling at like 2k, so it has a surprising amount of low end grunt.

I sold Encores with the same motor. Because of the weight of the thing, they were painfully underpowered.

Are they really that heavy? I have that motor in my Cruze (granted, it’s a 6 speed manual), but I think it scoots along just fine.

AWD doesn’t help. Bigger body too.
I think they’re pathetically slow, but ymmv

I’ve never driven one. My only frame of reference is my FWD, manual Cruze, which isn’t a slouch, but not exactly fast either. I could see the auto + AWD dragging it down, though.
